I grew up in a small town in the Midwest - population 400 - and our school and sports were the heart of everything. Between volleyball, softball, theatre, poms, cheer and watching football and boys' basketball, I was involved with as many activities as time would allow. School programs and community involvement mean the world to me, and that's why Vertical Raise is my jam! In high school, my family hosted an exchange student from Germany, which sparked my curiosity internationally. This prompted my six years abroad in Spain, studying and teaching ESL. Spain showed me another mentality and way of life, the love for food and history that I carry with me today. Upon returning to the US, I taught Spanish for another seven years and got involved in Student Council and Volleyball Club. Currently I'm focused on my contribution to keeping as many school programs and events alive as possible! My younger days were really rich with experiences, and I want the same for our youth today. Another way I accomplish this is by recruiting and placing exchange students throughout Colorado. Apart from that, you'll find me spending time with my friends and family. I have two awesome little nephews, and I love being an auntie, a sister and a daughter. You might also find me at an international grocery store, thrifting, in my kitchen, or out hiking!
