For the last 12 years, I have had the life-changing privilege of directing high school theatre in Gilmer, Texas. I loved directing shows, being the UIL Coordinator, and driving a school bus. But most of all ... I LOVED THE KIDS! My unique position allowed me to work with Special Olympics, announce the football games, and emcee our Drill Team's Spring Show. In other words, I know HOW HARD YOU WORK! I also know firsthand what can be accomplished when the administration, staff, families, and the community get behind their kids. In Gilmer, we have The Army of Buckeyes. This army consists of our students and ANYONE who is on their side. During the last two years at Gilmer, I used Vertical Raise to fund costs associated with our Musicals: Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast. Vertical Raise took TONS off my plate, The Army gave generously, and I could remain focused on my kids and our preparations. As a result, on-stage production value shot through the roof, and The Army packed the house! That could not have happened without Vertical Raise. Now that I work with Vertical Raise, let us take fundraising off your plate and let your town's Army SHOW OUT!
