Born and raised in New Albany, Indiana, I have been a lifelong resident of the Louisville area. I graduated from New Albany High School in 1991 as a two sport athlete in baseball and basketball. From there, I was a three year starter in baseball at Indiana University Southeast. I decided to forego my Senior year of eligibility to become an assistant baseball coach at my alma mater New Albany High School. I graduated in 1996 with a Bachelors of Science in Secondary Education. After graduation I went on to become a Social Studies teacher at New Albany High School for 9 years. In 2004, our family opened a hospitality business that we ran successfully for 15 years. My wife Julie and I have been married for 19 years and have 3 sons; Tyson (17), Tanner (15), and Trevor (12.) Most of our free time is spent watching them play soccer and basketball. I enjoy long walks with our silver Labrador Gracie, attending sporting events, and love a good day at Churchill Downs betting on the ponies. With three sons involved in high school/middle school sports, I can appreciate the importance of fundraising and the unparalleled level of service Vertical Raise provides to its partners.
