About This Fundraiser

The Mu Alpha Omega members at Malone University are raising money for the Refuge of Hope Ministries to help reduce barriers to counseling services for those who are impoverished in our community by supporting transportation and access to mental health appointments and providers. According to the results of the 2019 Stark County Community Health Assessment, that of the health leaders surveyed: “90.3%, identified lack of transportation as a barrier that prevents residents from receiving necessary medical care. Other common barriers identified included lack of insurance or the ability to pay, communication issues, lack of knowledge of available services, lack of behavioral health availability, and receiving quality health care” (The Stark County Community Health Assessment, 2019, p.51)
