K Plate Korean BBQ Fundraiser

K-Plate has grown year by year thanks to the incredible community of Troy, NY, and we have been so encouraged by the positive reviews of the food and witnessing first time customers become regulars. Unfortunately, right as we began to invest in a second location in Albany, NY and a relocation of the Troy K-Plate, COVID-19 struck and the takeout and delivery lockdown drastically reduced our revenue to the point where we are hoping week to week that people will continue to support us enough to allow our restaurant to continue operation. We have laid out some details for any potential questions, as we want to be as transparent as possible: DID YOU APPLY FOR THE DISASTER LOAN AND THE PAYCHECK PROTECTION PROGRAM? We have applied for both, but we have no idea whether we will be approved or when we will even have access to those funds. WHY DO YOU NEED ACCESS TO FUNDS SOONER RATHER THAN LATER? As we do not run our restaurant with a high profit margin to provide low cost and accessible Korean food, getting access to funds to cover weekly food costs and employee pay is more time sensitive. WHAT WILL DONATION BE PUT TOWARDS? These funds will aid us in covering food costs and employee pay for at least a few weeks so that we can get on our feet and maintain a financially stable state, as those are the essentials to keep our restaurant capable of serving affordable and delicious food to the community. HOW CAN I HELP? We will be grateful for any amount that you can donate of course, but you can also help by sharing this fundraiser via social media so that it has as much visibility as possible. Final Note: We and our employees who are left (many had to return home due to the school closures) are working extremely hard to continue to represent our pride in our Korean culture and share the result of that hard work with you.
