Rocklin High School Boys Golf Program Fundraiser

Thunder Golf Friends and Family,

I am blessed to be the Head Coach of the Varsity Boys Golf Program at Rocklin High School.  For the 2024 Golf Season, we have 19 young men challenging the tough Sierra Foothill League from our home, Whitney Oaks Golf Course.  Defending our 2023 League Title won't be easy, but our Golf Teams have been working overtime to fine-tune their skills, and put forth their best efforts with each golf shot.

I have been coaching Golf for Rocklin High School for the past 23 years, and I'm happy to say I also look after the Varsity Girls Golf Program in the Fall.  Our Junior Varsity Coach for both the Boys and Girls Golf is Thunder Dan Robison.  Thunder Dan and I are fortunate to spend our afternoons for about half of the year with today's youth, golfing on the beautiful, oak-studded hillsides of Whitney Oaks.

As with most youth sporting programs, we incur expenses throughout the season to pay for Uniforms, Facilities, Transportation, Team Meals, Equipment, and Team-Bonding Experiences...like going to Top Golf!  Our program receives very little money from our School District to cover these expenses, and therefore, we need to fundraise.  Our High School Golf Program is fortunate to have access to District Vans..permitting us to travel to Matches and Tournaments all together as 1 Team.  Van Trips enable us to share stories, advice, experiences, and really add to the memories for our Student-Athletes.  Our Golfers look sharp in embroidered shirts, hats, and pullovers...and with the old addage 'dress for success' as our golfers proudly show their school colors.  This year, we have added a few Tournaments, including: the St. Mary's at Stockton Country Club, Jesuit's Father Barry at Haggin Oaks, and we hosted the 15-Team Thunder Invitational at our home Whitney Oaks Golf Course.  I'm looking forward to getting Divot Tools with our Rocklin High School logo to reaffirm the importance of taking care of the putting greens.
